March Meeting Cancelled
The City Of Greenville has announced that the W. Walworth Harrison Public Library will be closed from March 16th through March 31st. The Greenville Art League therefore will not have a meeting in the month of March. The next meeting will be April 15th. We will have our election for the positions of President and Secretary at that meeting. We would normally accept nominations from the floor at our March meeting, but since that meeting is cancelled, if you are a member please send me your nominations via email to ArtLeagueGreenville@gmail.com. You may nominate any member for either position, including yourself if you wish to volunteer. The Board has nominated two members whom I have confirmed will serve if elected, Duncan Porter for President and Kathy Derby for Secretary.

Meeting February 2020
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
Per our Constitution a three person nominating committee is to be elected at the February meeting.
If you would like to volunteer for the committee, please let President Allen Weekley or one of our other officers know.
Elections for the positions of President and Secretary will be conducted in the April Meeting, so members please attend the February and April meetings if at all possible, to ensure that we have a quorum present for the nominating committee election and the vote on the new League officers.
ART DEMO
Our art demonstration for the February meeting will be by Patsy Seward, who will demonstrate painting an acrylic landscape of Caddo Lake.
ART CHALLENGE
Members and visitors are welcome to bring an art piece for the challenge.
In November we learned in a demonstration that drawing and value are two of the most common problems in art. This month, we will tackle drawing and see what we could learn to improve our drawings skills.
The challenge is . . .
1. Draw something you do on the weekends that makes you happy.
2. Use a single color. It can be black, white, or any color of the spectrum, but drawn with only a single color.

Call For Artists - Greenville Art Market
The Greenville Art Market At The Texan Theater will be on Saturday February 15, 2020. The hours will be 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. If you would like to participate in the Greenville Art Market on February 15 please email me a brief description of the items you will be offering, and indicate whether you prefer a space inside or outside. There is no vendor fee for the Greenville Art Market.
There will be two areas available to display and sell your artwork, the lobby of the beautiful Texan Theater, or outdoors in the courtyard of the theater. For the indoor area, The Texan will set up a table with tablecloth and a chair. There will be approximately a 4 x 8 ft area available, so if you have easels or racks you can use the space with a smaller table, or no table. If you choose the courtyard area, you should bring everything necessary for your exhibit including table, chair, tablecloth, and a canopy or booth if you choose to use one. Food and beverages are available in the Lobby Cafe.
The Texan Theater will open at 9:30 AM. Please be set up and ready to sell by 10:00 AM. As always, artwork or crafts for sale should be produced or designed by the vendor offering them for sale.
